Joining the Beehiiv

Hello! I’ve decided to join Beehiiv.

My last attempt at writing consistently was on a blog called Quick Product Tips, which I started in November 2022. This was meant to include bite-sized posts for Product Managers.

Meanwhile, I started a Substack publication in March 2023. My first few posts were fairly general, but I soon started writing product management content - and I paused writing for Quick Product Tips.

I posted very consistently throughout 2023 - Substack told me that I achieved a streak of 40+ weekly posts. However, I was finding the content a bit dry and the format rigid. Then the Substack controversy hit, and I decided to look for a new home.

In the end, I actually repurposed the best Substack posts and put them on my Quick Product Tips blog, and set up MailerLite as a way to email my subscribers. I imported all my subscribers, wrote a few new posts at the start of 2024, and then … didn’t publish again until July. I guess I needed more than a change of platform. (After all, I did find the content a bit dry, as mentioned above.)

I think I’d prefer to write a wider range of content than only allowing myself to write about product management (although I will probably still write about that a fair bit). And I’d like to write under my own name, rather than under a publication name.

So, let’s try again shall we?
